Electrical discharge that occur between portions of the insulation between conducting electrodes in known as Partial discharge. It mostly occurs on the surface of insulating material due to irregularities in the insulation system. Partial discharge increases over time and finally leads to a disruptive failure. PD normally emits Electromagnetic Waves, acoustic waves and gases like ozone and Nitrous Oxide.
Cornerstone uses a combination of Ultrasound detection and TEV detection to detect surface and internal discharges respectively.
Our PD testing service does not require shutdown and therefore, is a cost-effective and efficient way to carry out preventive maintenance. Also our experience in interpretation of the results is an added advantage.
